In the real world, The Silk Road, or Silk Route, is a series of trade and cultural transmission routes that were central to cultural interaction through regions of the Asian continent connecting the West and East by linking traders, merchants, pilgrims, monks, soldiers, nomads and urban dwellers from China to the Mediterranean Sea during various periods of time.
In Lemurias, the Silk Road or Silk Route is based on the same priniciple. It's a series of trade routes that connect the Hellenic West to the Far East. Overtime, people from the Far East have come into the Hellenic West and settled there, bringing their exotic culture and ways of thinking.
In Phaeselis, this results in Qin'ae Town and the Aryavartan Quarter. Several philosophic schools from the Far East that have yet to be named, and -- of course -- the influx of certain spices and certain fabrics -- namely silks. The Silk Road portion is in the northeast and for 25 miles out it's farms and countryside on either side of the road. Another twenty five miles it turns into grassland with few trees that could ever be called a forest. Beyond that, it connects to the main route that leads through most of the Hellenic World, through the land of Anaxamandras, stopping at Samarkhand and Alexandria Eschate. Beyond those lies dragons and the fabled world of Qin'ae, the Middle Kingdom.
Traveling on the Silk Road is not a safe endeavor. Monsters are found on the road. As one approaches Anaximandras territory, one must be wary of the dangers these present.
